Edinburgh
Days 1–2
The journey begins in Edinburgh with a calm arrival and time to gather as a group.
We slow down meet each other and step out of everyday rhythm.
Food is bought equipment is checked and packs are adjusted carefully.
We talk through safety weather and what expedition style travel means.
Group formation and expedition preparation set a stable foundation.

Fort William
Days 2–3
We travel north by train into the Scottish Highlands.
The landscape opens with lochs mountains and wide valleys.
After arrival we take time to settle stretch and slow the pace further.
Weather is checked and packs are prepared for the mountain day ahead.
Scenic train journey and mountain preparation define this phase.

Ben Nevis
Day 3
We start early and hike directly from Fort William.
The route climbs steadily through changing terrain and weather.
The pace stays supportive with breaks and shared decisions.
Reaching the summit depends on conditions and group energy.
Mountain ascent and group decision making are the focus.

Fort William
Day 3–4
After the mountain day the evening is intentionally slow.
Bodies recover and the mind settles.
There is no fixed program and no pressure.
Rest and recovery allow the experience to integrate.

Glenfinnan Viaduct
Day 4
We continue west by train through remote Highland landscapes.
Light changes glens widen and the sense of space grows.
We stop at the viaduct and walk quietly through the surroundings.
Scenic railway travel and landscape observation guide the day.

Mallaig
Day 4
We reach the coast where land meets the sea.
From here we board a small boat and leave the mainland behind.
The crossing marks a clear shift into deeper remoteness.
Boat transfer and transition to island life define this moment.

Isle of Rum
Days 4–8
These days are spent fully in remote wilderness.
There are no roads few people and no fixed routes.
Each day is shaped by weather terrain and group rhythm.
We hike long distances wild camp and practice basic survival skills.
Wild camping navigation fire making and water filtering are part of daily life.
This is the heart of the expedition.

Mainland Return and Transition
Days 8–9
Option 1 Coastal Return
We return by boat and spend one final night near the sea.
The transition out of wilderness stays gentle.
Option 2 via Glasgow
We travel inland to the city for comfort and recovery.
The contrast to wild days is clear and grounding.

Edinburgh
Days 9–10
We return to Edinburgh and slow the pace once more.
There is time to wander rest and reflect.
The expedition is consciously closed as a group.
Final reflection and integration mark the end.
